The Princess Bride (20th Anniversary Edition) (1987)

This movie is easily one of my top 10 favorite movies. It is smart. It is funny. There are multiple layers of humor in this movie. The obvious jokes are pretty good, but there are a lot of secondary and tertiary meanings to much of the dialog.

The story is your basic damsel in distress fantasy with a hero that overcomes severe odds for the sake of true love. What sets this movie apart from others in its genre and what makes it a timeless addition to my video library is the witty humor and dialog. It is a light comedy in most respects. I highly recommend this movie for young adults, teenagers, and for those of us over 30 and under 40, it will transport you back to the days of our youth... and make you laugh again.
