Manu'a Cession Day

07/16/2008 - 00:00
Pacific/Pago Pago

Manu'a, 90 miles to the East of Tutuila, was ceded to the United States in 1904 by the last king of Manu'a, Tuimanu'a Elisara.

Manu'a Cessian Day celebrates the union of the Manu'a Islands with Tutuila and Aunu'u as the Territory of American Samoa.

Manu'a is a beautiful triple island system and is composed of the islands of Olosega, Ofu, and Ta'u. In part due to their remote location and geography, Manu'a boasts beautiful, accessible reefs.

Vaoto Lodge on Ofu Island is the primary provider of lodgings for visitors. For more information on visiting Manu'a, contact them by going to their web site: http://www.vaotolodge.com .
